Detection of breast cancer by mammogram image segmentation.
An important approach for describing a region is to quantify its structure content. In this paper the use of functions for computing texture based on statistical measures is prescribed. MPM (Maximizer of the posterior margins) algorithm is employed. The segmentation based on texture feature would classify the breast tissue under various categories. The algorithm evaluates the region properties ...
متن کاملBreast Cancer Segmentation and Detection Using Multi-View Mammogram
A methodology that detects the breast mass from MLO and CC projection of mammogram images was proposed. It involves feature extraction from the given image set and find the component location value. Then breast mass in single view is figured out which is then merged to get a 3D view of the location breast mass in the mammogram image.

Introduction: Health literacy is the capacity of individual to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and health services that are necessary for making a good decision. Health literacy is effective in improving the treatment process and reducing healthcare costs. Health literacy is directly connected to humanity. With regard to human complexities and creativity, quantitative ...
متن کاملAn Improved Approach for Breast Cancer Detection in Mammogram based on Watershed Segmentation
An accurate technique for breast tumor segmentation is a critical step for monitoring and quantifying breast cancer. The fully automated tumor segmentation in mammograms presents many challenges related to characteristics of an image. In this paper, a hybrid segmentation algorithm, which combines the watershed transform and level set techniques, is proposed. Since watershed segmentation is base...
متن کاملIncidental PET/CT Detection of Breast Cancer in a Patient with Negative Mammogram and Breast Sonogram
We present the case of a 57-year-old woman with known Hodgkins lymphoma who presented with PET/CT findings of a breast mass and diseased axillary lymph node despite negative results from a recent routine mammogram and ultrasound. Needle biopsy of the mass and lymph node confirmed a diagnosis of infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the breast with nodal metastases.
